ACSR (Aluminium Conductor Steel Re-inforced)

Application

ACSR Conductor are used as bare overhead transmission cable & also as primary and secondary distribution cable. ACSR Conductor offers optimal strength for line design. Variable steel core stranding enables desired strength to be achieved without sacrificing ampacity.

Technical Data

Aluminium Conductor Steel-reinforced (ACSR) is a specific type of high-capacity, high-strength stranded conductor typically used in overhead power lines.
The outer strands are of Aluminium which is mainly because of its high conductivity, low weight and low cost.
The center strand(s) is/are of steel, which is used for the strength required to support the weight without stretching the aluminium due to its flexibility.
MUL provides ACSR conductors in several specific sizes, codes and types -all as per Indian and International Standards.
